The aerodynamic performance of these wheels has already been meticulously refined, with aero rims, spokes, and hubs designed to the smallest detail. However, to elevate the optimisation of the wheel-tyre system (WTS) even further, it became clear that an aerodynamic tyre was required. No existing tyre met the high standards for low aero drag and balanced handling, so Swiss Side and DT Swiss set out to develop their own. Their long-standing partnership led to the search for a tyre expert, and Continental became the ideal partner, contributing their advanced rubber technology. The collaboration ensured that the AERO 111 front wheel tyre would complement the wheel's design perfectly, creating a unified system that sets new aerodynamic standards. 48 small cavities are evenly distributed across its surface. These are known as vortex generators, designed to control turbulence in the airflow on the front wheel. This innovative feature helps reduce drag across the entire wheel-tyre system, creating a more efficient ride.
